As the Drift Rock Five neared the Command Center Chalet, a flurry of activity greeted their eyes. AbadarCorp personnel hurriedly coordinated relief efforts for those affected by the recent storm. The group watched as large crates of supplies were loaded onto transport ships, while others unloaded fresh medical equipment and relief packages. The sound of chatter and the hum of machinery filled the air as they made their way through the bustling crowd.
Approaching the chalet, the Drift Rock Five were greeted by a shirren with a muted gray carapace and intelligent, multifaceted eyes. "Welcome, we've been expecting you. Need any medical attention?" She reached into her lab coat and pulled out a medical tricorder.
Once their wounds were tended to, Ms. Nott informed the group that a large number of the press had arrived. She requested that the Drift Rock Five simply stand near her for the cameras while she answered questions, promising them 1,000 credits for the use of their image. The entire party, except for Gus, agreed. Gus stood back and watched while the Drift Rock Five greeted the press.
However, the reporters quickly got out of hand and bombarded everyone with questions. Ms. Nott acquiesced, offering each member of the Drift Rock Five a 3,000 credit bonus to speak with the press directly.
The reporters' questions ranged from meaningful and insightful to utterly absurd. The interview was unexpectedly interrupted by two aircraft strafing Snowdrop Village.
Eisyfina Nott urgently asked the Drift Rock Five to board their ship and deal with the enemy aircraft, promising a reward for their assistance. As they prepared to leave, the reporter Lyta Lantrell approached them with an additional request - to mount a camera on their ship, offering 5,000 credits for the task.
Our heroes, feeling a sense of avarice, agreed to both tasks. They hastily boarded their ship, ready to defend the village and capture the dramatic events on camera. As they took to the skies, the weight of their mission settled upon them, and they knew that they would do whatever it took to protect the innocent inhabitants below.
