Hello fellow Catizens. I swear we are going to nail this opening one day. Just not today it seems. So much to cover in this bit of catbites. So with out wasting anymore time here is everything you need to know is easily understandable catbites
1. As the world now knows Achilles and the Myrmidons stopped an assassination attempt on the President at the closing day of the World Security Summit. The Myimidons, and their leader, have received praise from universally everyone. Mayor Elect Thorne has even suggested the city have a official day to celebrate our home town heroes.
2. The accolades have coming pouring in, including from current Justice League Chair Wonder Woman, "They have done a great thing today and I can think of no finer team to protect my adopted city. Not everyone was as thrilled as Princess Diana. Former JLIer Fire was quoted as saying, "I don't see what the big deal is, I mean we saved the world dozens of times and you know the President lives on the world."
3. In other news, I am sure you will all be reading my front page piece so I will not waste time bottom lining it for you. This is one of the few times where I think 15 column inches may not be enough information. I stand behind every word.
So there you have it Gateway! It has been one hell of a week with the the saving of a President, the accolades of millions and the down fall of a hometown hero. What could be more exciting! Be here next time when we will have everything you need to know all in...well you know.
Cat Grant
Rachael recovers after a couple days in the med-bay. Meanwhile, Cat Grant has taken down Dr. Tripod in her exposé, revealing all of his crimes including the theft of Achilles’ poem. Next Thursday will be “Achilles and the Myrmidons Day.” Mayor Thorne is still planning to renovate Chinatown with affordable housing for the Chinese residents. Ferdinand notes that the team has been receiving many gifts, which he will open and catalog. Black Diamond and Grandfather have been fighting criminals. The former wants Orichalcum to “pick up the boxes for mom.” She has no idea what he’s talking about.
One of the gifts for Akasha contains human remains, a freshly killed head with a note in its mouth that says “Leviathan is mine and has always been mine. I have dealt with your usurper.” The head is Mark Shaw’s. The handwriting on the note matches that of Akasha’s grandfather’s journals. Quantum alerts the police about it.
Rachael’s campaign manager quits and arranges a date with her. A PR expert named Missy shows up to meet with her and plan for the team’s parade.
Grandfather is upset that Orichalcum hasn’t given the family the boxes. He notes that Black Diamond has the legal issues covered. She orders the boxes with LexCorp Prime to be delivered.
On the day of the parade, a limo takes the team downtown where they’re showered with ticker tape in the shape of ants. Wonder Woman speaks in the team’s honor. Achilles accepts the key to the city and recites a poem about the JSA. Thorne talks to Rachael about her turning down a position with his administration. Cat Grant and Achilles have a talk and she offers to talk to him about coping with grief. Talia al Ghul approaches Akasha at the party and thanks him for helping to stop Leviathan. Thorne offers Quantum a job to benefit from his knowledge of national security. Achilles asks Wonder Woman to have Hal Jordan contact him.
Hal Jordan visits Achilles the next morning. Achilles asks him about blue rings and how they can counteract a red ring. He explains he knows someone taken by a red ring. Hal goes to check with Ganthet, who is in charge of the Blue Lantern Corps.
Orichalcum goes to her family’s new home in Chinatown. It’s smaller than their old place. Black Diamond’s not really helping much with expenses because he’s setting up his own pad. There wasn’t enough housing for all of the original Chinatown inhabitants, so others have scattered and left town. The Themysciran charity run by Rachael and sisters originally brought the property, but the state seized it by imminent domain instead. Her parents try to set her up with nice Chinese boy to give them grandchildren, but she leaves as he arrives.
Akasha has coffee with Talia al Ghul and tell her that his grandfather sent him Shaw’s head. They make plan to compare journals in their possession in a month.
Rachael has her date and tell him of her plans to investigate the election. They go dancing and mesh well, but Rachael leaves him with just a kiss.
Quantum investigates shipping crimes and the dock for the position Thorne offered him.
The next day, Legionnaires show up for Achilles’ help.
