DC Modern - Session 4 - 3/2/20

 1. Changeling captures General Immortus after battle in the mountains south of Gateway City.  Some 40 odd sycophants also apprehended, along with stockpiles of illegal weapons.  Looks Like The Titans West Leader is making a big Splash here in town.

 2. Government inquiry launched into Achilles and the Myrmidons  for using "unknown" "Radioactive" substance.  Inside sources confirm that Quantum is a government agent sent to infiltrate the group and discover the new substance.  Will we see a new cancer cluster in Gateway as a result of this substance?

 3. Several confirmed sightings have pinpointed the base of Achilles and the Myrmidons.  Turns out they are squatting inside the old Themyscira embassy.   Well at least all the protestors will know where to go.

 4. Super Crime, after trending downward, seems to be on the rise here in Gateway City.  Since Wonder Woman's disappearance a number of whacko's have started using this city as a cash box.  Maybe Titans West will be able to stem the tide of increased super crime.

 5. Former JLAer Green Arrow now added to list of heroes missing since the "Infinite Crisis".  Star City seems to have lost it's A list guardian adding to a growing number of cities to face this crisis.  Just word of advice for Star City make sure whatever new guys you get can find their spears with both hands.

We traveled to Turkey and found my spear in the museum there. I took it, sparking an international incident. Donna Troy handles it.

Commissioner Hall says the Zandian goons and weapons were smuggled in by Immortus about a month ago. Just starting operations in the US. Army locked down info from Immortus himself.

I call Helena Sandsmark. She hasn’t been in touch with Cassie since Superboy’s death. She says Diana acquired the Staff of Hermes, but since she disappeared there’s no clue where the Staff might be.

Orichalcum’s grandfather has no information on the items.

Meet with Anton De Vere to see if he can identify items. He thinks Staff is in the Embassy. He says there have been ninja sightings in Gateway.

Green Bell of Thul useless without Silver Wheel of Nyoralth and Red Jar of Calythos. Together they summon the Demons Three—Abnegazar, Rath, and Ghast ruled galaxy ages ago and were banished by the Endless (Abnegazar killed by Dr. Fate.) Release incense from jar, spin wheel, sound bell—will possess their powers for 100 years, after which they’re free.

One of the other items might be the Spear of Destiny, last seen in Germany.

Alan Scott’s ring linked to the Starheart, could be used to reestablish Lords of Chaos. Alan Scott missing since Infinite Crisis.

No information about any other items.

Orichalcum opens vault at Embassy and finds a lot of weapons, including Staff of Hermes! Also a set of feather wings—Daedelus’s? Staff of Hermes might have translation, healing, coin-counting abilities. Legends that it can raise the dead, or opens door to afterlife to guide the dead person out. Might sense impending death.

Computer translates a file—Book of Eternity. Merlin’s spellbook, originally owned by his father. In fall of Camelot, a fragment went to Etrigan. Janissary in Turkey got whole book in modern era. Spells allow conquering of world, turn individual into flock of birds. Janissary worked to gather fragments of the Rock of Eternity. Killed in villain war in Infinite Crisis? Computer also translates files on Silver Wheel and Red Jar. Suggest finding Felix Faust.

Does golden feather connect to Golden Eagle? No info about where he got his powers post-Crisis. Dead now. Buried in Valhalla Cemetery in Metropolis.

Orichalcum gets mysterious text message that tells us Rock of Eternity pieces gathered by Shadowpact. Janissary still alive and in Turkey. Text from Oracle????

We go to Gotham and talk to Wildcat at JSA HQ. We learn Shadowpact operates out of the Oblivion Bar in Gotham. Mr. Terrific x-rays the grave of Golden Eagle. They believe the feathers are part of Shu’s headdress (Egyptian god of wind/air/peace/lions).

Mr. Terrific indicates there’s a Lazarus Pit in Gotham, thus explaining the red pin. Helm of Nabu was recovered and in hands of someone searching for the new Fate. Alan Scott has returned and will contact us. We don’t know how to find Shadowpact so we place a classified ad online.

Mr. Terrific gives us a translation program to use on the files. It works:

Black Diamond of Eclipso—location was in Gotham with JSA but that hero died. Was with villain who seduced Spectre. Diamond might still be with her.

Medusa Mask of Psycho-Pirate—last known location in the Arctic where Black Adam killed PP. Complete emotional control of subject.

Spear of Destiny—last known location Berlin at end of WW2.

Mystic Lantern of Jack o’ Lantern—current location with Jack in England?

Candle of Neron—current whereabouts unknown. Said to come when user needs it most. Perfect for dealmaking—light candle and make a deal with Neron.

Feather of Shu—gives flight, limited strength and invulnerability, exceptional vision. Whereabouts of Golden Eagle unknown. Whew.

Lasso—with Wonder Girl, currently under observation working with Kryptonian resurrection cult.

Runic files include everything Immortus knows about the operations of Mordru, Vandal Savage, and Ra’s al Ghul, plus Circe whom he claims to have eliminated.
